The initial phase will see an investment of $200M

Vietnamese logistics company Dong Tam Group (DTG) and Korea's CS Wind Corp. have signed a cooperation agreement under which the Vietnamese outfit will lease land to the Korea equipment manufacturer for the construction of a large-scale wind power factory in Vietnam.

The facility will be located in the Long Southeast Asia Industrial Park at the Long An International Port.

Under the agreement, DTG will lease 50 hectares of industrial and service land to CS Wind, which will build a factory and storage yeard for onshore and offshore wind towers, as well as monopiles and transition pieces.

The initial phase will see an investment of $200m.

Ultimately the facility will have an expected capacity of tens of thousands of units per year, the company said, ranging from 500 tons to 4,000 tons per unit.

"We are very excited to welcome a prestigious corporation such as CS Wind to invest in the Long An Southeast Asia Industrial Park. Once the factory is operational, the equipment produced here will be efficiently exported to countries around the world through Long An International Port" said Chairman of DTG's Board of Directors Vo Quoc Thang.
