Korea would attend and showcase its smart agricultural technologies at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 to be held in Doha, Qatar from October 2023.
Minister Chung Hwang keun of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MAFRA) held a meeting with Minister Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie of Municipality of Qatar to discuss how both countries can strengthen their cooperation in the area of smart agriculture.
The two countries have continued cooperation in smart agriculture after concluding the (MOU) on Cooperation in Smart Agriculture In January 2019,
At the meeting, Minister Chung Hwang keun officially announced that the Republic of Korea would attend and showcase its smart agricultural technologies at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 to be held in Doha, Qatar from October this year. Also, the Minister proposed the visit of Qatari working-level business delegation to Korea and the revision of the MOU on Cooperation in Smart Agriculture to strengthen working-level cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Chung Hwang keun said, “We are focusing on smart agriculture to achieve food security while overcoming desert climate in the Middle East. The government will proactively provide the platform of cooperation such as today’s meeting so that smart farm companies facing challenges in entering foreign markets at an early stage can more easily start doing business in countries in the Middle East.”
