New, state-of-the-art laboratory building and the renovation and expansion of existing facilities to strengthen R&D capacities
Syngenta is investing around ₣40 million Swiss francs ($45 million ) in the expansion and modernization of its site in Münchwilen in the canton of Aargau as part of an expansion project. By 2027, the investment will include the construction of a new, state-of-the-art laboratory building and the renovation and expansion of existing facilities in order to sustainably strengthen research and development capacities and promote innovation at the home site.
The Basel-based agricultural technology company Syngenta, which researches, produces and has its headquarters in Switzerland, is investing around 40 million in the Münchwilen site, where the group operates processes and product development through specialists in the areas of analytics, process technology, formulation and packaging.
The production processes for all Syngenta crop protection products worldwide are designed and developed in Münchwilen. These ensure the quality and stability of the products.
The investment project, which is scheduled to be completed by 2027, includes the construction of a new, modern laboratory building equipped with the latest technologies and thus meeting the requirements for development in the future. In addition, existing buildings will be renovated and modernized. New meeting areas are planned outside to promote exchange and collaboration among employees and to create an attractive working environment.

The expansion measures at the Münchwilen AG site reflect Syngenta’s commitment to comprehensive sustainability and corporate responsibility. Through the optimized operating processes and improved infrastructure, the company expects not only increased productivity but also a noticeable reduction in its ecological footprint.
