TTC AgriS and Sungai Budi enter a comprehensive partnership towards the goal of developing sustainable high-tech agriculture
A new partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia has been established to pursue sustainable high-tech agriculture, and government support has been given to expand multilateral trade.
The significant step in agricultural and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia occurred during Vietnamese Party General Secretary – H.E. To Lam’s official state visit to Indonesia, ASEAN Secretariat, and Singapore at the invitation of the Indonesian President and President of the Great Indonesia Movement Party Prabowo Subianto. A pivotal moment in Vietnam’s regional and international integration journey, this milestone coincides with Vietnam’s 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Indonesia, as well as its 30th anniversary of accession to ASEAN.
In Indonesia, a major producer of sugarcane and coconut in the region, this collaboration is expected to improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Linking the two countries’ agricultural industries will boost bilateral trade, contributing to the shared goal of raising Vietnam-Indonesia trade volume to USD 18 billion by 2028.
A comprehensive strategic partnership agreement was signed between TTC AgriS (Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, stock code: SBT) and Sungai Budi Group – Indonesia’s largest agribusiness conglomerate – under the witness of Vietnamese Party General Secretary – HE To Lam and Senior Ministers from both nations.
As part of the signing ceremony, H.E. To Lam, the Vietnamese Party General Secretary, as well as representatives of Vietnam and Indonesia’s governments, as well as Ms. Dang Huynh Uc My, Chairlady of TTC AgriS and Oey Alfred, Director of Sungai Budi Group, were present.
A number of sectoral agreements, including those concerning agriculture, were signed during the visit between Vietnamese Party General Secretary – HE To Lam and Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto. Vietnamese enterprise TTC AgriS, which has been deeply involved in Indonesia’s agricultural sector for many years, is actively leveraging its advantages to accelerate technology transfer and contribute to sustainable agriculture in the region with strong government support.
Backed by strong international partnerships with governments and strategic players in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, the United States, and Canada, etc. TTC AgriS not only creates economic value but also builds robust global trade platforms to address challenges related to climate change, food security, and responsible farming practices.
A major milestone for TTC AgriS and Sungai Budi Group, this partnership paves the way for cross-border technology transfer and management exchange, enhancing the agricultural value chain. An expanding multinational footprint and digital operations model distinguish TTC AgriS as a leading high-tech agricultural enterprise in Vietnam. A circular growth strategy prioritizes traceability, reducing environmental impact, and optimizing costs.
According to the agreement, TTC AgriS and Sungai Budi Group will collaborate to apply scientific advancements to high-tech agriculture and agricultural value chains in Indonesia, particularly in the supply chains for sugarcane and coconut. By leveraging the partnership as a gateway to global agricultural markets, TTC AgriS will establish joint ventures dedicated to precision farming and advanced manufacturing.
Technology transfer, the best practices of plantation management, digital agro-solutions and trade processes between Vietnam and Indonesia will be the main areas of focus for both parties in the sugar sector. In Indonesia, a 2,000-hectare demo farm will showcase advanced cultivation technologies aimed at improving productivity and crop quality. The partnership will also establish a joint agriculture R&D center in Indonesia.
Developing a production and commercial platform that can produce and sell 120 million liters/kilograms of coconut products to the Indonesian and global markets will be the first phase of scaling up to 300 million liters/kilograms. Additionally, the project involves the development of 20,000 hectares of organic coconut ecosystem, fostering shared value and consistent quality.
