Launches “CERTANO®” biological solution and “Cropwise” digital technology to combat nematodes, moths, and diseases in sugarcane fields.
Syngenta is introducing groundbreaking biological and digital solutions to this strategic market. Syngenta Biologicals, the company’s recently launched global brand, has developed new CERTANO® biological solutions integrated with technology to combat nematodes, sugarcane diseases management, and sugarcane phases. Syngenta’s also launches new digital tools to help farmers fight soil pests and monitor moths.
An innovative solution presented during the 19th edition of Insectshow on July 19th and 20th in Ribeiro Preto – SP. This event brings together researchers, technicians, producers, and plant managers to discuss strategies and tools for controlling the major sugarcane pests.
During the Insectshow, the company presents CERTANO®, a microbiological bionematicide with a broad spectrum of action, which can be used in all phases of cultivation, offering the sugarcane grower an efficient control of nematodes, with greater practicality of use, from planting to ratoons, at all times of the year .
“CERTANO®, Syngenta’s first biological for sugarcane culture with a 3 in 1 action, bionematicide, biofungicide and growth promoting action offers consistent control with immediate and prolonged effect, in addition to physical and chemical compatibility in association with other products, to boost the productivity and longevity of the cane field”, says Renato Pirola, Marketing Manager of Crops at Syngenta.
Cropwise, product of Syngenta’s digital agriculture platform, is a new digital tool helping cultivators fight soil pests and monitor moths to solve common crop problems. By creating an automatic monitoring route, soil pest routing optimizes the time and distance covered by the field team. The automatic counting of moths uses Artificial Intelligence to count them inside a trap. This ensures data reliability and increases the speed of pest monitoring, bringing more efficiency to field technicians.
The solution prioritizes the highest risk areas and takes into account the distance between the points to suggest a targeting plan, bringing efficiency to the operation. As of the last harvest, producers have relied on drill routing, which shows great results, such as reduced daily monitoring routes by three times.
“Plant managers deal with a lot of data at the same time, several teams with different scopes and several threats in the field ready to harm the sugarcane field. As a result, making intelligent, efficient and timely decisions is essential. Our solution brings more agility with reliable and accessible information, georeferenced data available offline for fast and secure information management”, highlights Larissa Vieira, Sales and Relationship Manager at Syngenta Digital.
