Initiated a plan to implement the fisheries development strategy until 2030 to enhance sustainability and efficiency
Vietnam’s Department of Fisheries is set to develop brackish water shrimp farming in the Quang Binh area sustainably and effectively sooner. An action plan has been released by the People’s Committee in Quang Binh province for the implementation of the fisheries development strategy until 2030, a vision for 2045 for the province; a plan for implementing the National Aquaculture Development Program for Quang Binh province from 2021 to 2030; and a shrimp industry development plan for Quang Binh province.
To develop brackish water shrimp farming, a number of solutions have been proposed such as:
- Developing a model of cooperation and association based on the organization of small, dispersed establishments into shrimp farming cooperatives to create areas Large, centralized production of raw materials, acting as a focal point to link with businesses providing input materials and consuming products along the value chain, reducing intermediaries
- Research to form social enterprises in farming, processing, and consuming shrimp products according to production areas to improve production efficiency and product value
- Strengthen inspection and examination of the production and distribution system of breeds, feed, drugs, chemicals and supplies to serve the shrimp industry in the province
- Monitor, warn the environment and strictly control the epidemic situation in concentrated shrimp farming areas
- Closely monitor water supply and wastewater sources of farming facilities, shrimp processing
- Strengthen environmental monitoring, warning of the impact of climate change and environmental pollution
- Effectively manage the use of shared water sources for economic activities, without causing environmental pollution, limiting conflicts and negative impacts during the process of using shared water sources
- Encourage people to mobilize and accumulate land, invest in synchronous shrimp farming facilities to easily apply new science and technology, summarize and evaluate effective shrimp production models for replication.
- At the same time, propagate the guidelines and policies of the State and the province on regulations and policies for shrimp farming development. limit conflicts and negative impacts during shared use of water sources
- Encourage people to mobilize and accumulate land, invest in synchronous shrimp farming facilities to easily apply new science and technology, summarize and evaluate effective shrimp production models for replication.
