The collaboration would be carried out through its subsidiary, Agrico Malaysia Sdn Bhd
Agrico Qatar is ready to invest and establish cooperation in the Malaysian agricultural sector. The company specialised in the production of vegetables, organic fruits, aquaculture and organic waste management.
According to the local media, Malaysian Agriculture and Food Security Ministry (MAFS) has released a statement that said the collaboration would be carried out through its subsidiary, Agrico Malaysia Sdn Bhd, mainly for aquaculture projects, integrated agriculture, fertilizer and fodder supply.
MAFS is also ready to facilitate cooperation between departments or agencies under the ministry with Agrico Qatar to ensure sustainable and continuous food sources.
During the official visit of former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to Qatar in March last year, Agrico Qatar presented a letter of commitment for investment amounting to $360 million (RM1.5 billion) and expressed its intention to invest in the development of premium quality fruit and vegetable production facilities in Malaysia.
