Proven® Seed collaborates with farmers across the Prairies to evaluate hybrids under large-scale farm conditions spanning a wide range of soils, climates, and cropping systems
Proven® Seed, the proprietary seed brand of Nutrien Ag Solutions, is expanding its canola portfolio with the launch of four new hybrids for the 2026 growing season. The additions include both LibertyLink® and TruFlex® options, each offering distinct maturity ranges, trait packages, and agronomic advantages to meet the evolving needs of Western Canadian farmers.
“These new hybrids are the result of extensive multi-year field testing through our comprehensive seed advancement program,” says Jennifer Dale, Canola Product Line Manager at Nutrien Ag Solutions. “We evaluate both experimental and commercial lines at more than 100 locations annually so that every hybrid we advance is selected for real-world performance – aligned to local growing conditions and farming management practices.”
Proven Seed’s LibertyLink additions include three new hybrids:
PV 662 LCM
- Mid-maturity with strong yield potential
- Multigenic clubroot resistance
- Excellent standability
- Suitable for delayed swathing or straight cutting
PV 662 LCM is a true workhorse hybrid that combines high-yield performance with harvest flexibility and disease protection. Its consistent results across more challenging regions like central and northern Alberta, make it a strong choice for farmers seeking reliability and standability in a mid-maturity product.
PV 663 LCN
- Early to mid-maturity
- NTACT® pod shatter reduction technology
- Excellent clubroot resistance
- A strong candidate for straight-cutting
PV 663 LCN is ideal for farmers who want to integrate straight cutting into their harvest strategy. With the addition of Proven Seed’s proprietary NTACT technology, this hybrid significantly reduces the risk of pod shatter loss while maintaining yield stability and operational efficiency.
PV 664 LCN
- Full-season maturity
- NTACT pod shatter reduction technology
- Advanced blackleg & clubroot resistance
- Optimized for straight-cut systems
PV 664 LCN brings together key traits farmers have been asking for: pod integrity, multi-disease resistance, and adaptability to a wide range of Western Canadian conditions. “Equipped with all the defense you need, this hybrid performed exceptionally well in trials. We look forward to seeing it succeed in farmers’ fields next season,” says Dale.
TruFlex Hybrid
Proven Seed’s TruFlex addition includes one new hybrid:
PV 784 TCN
- NTACT pod shatter reduction technology
- Excellent blackleg and clubroot resistance
- Strong standability
- Straight-cut compatible
PV 784 TCN is a comprehensive solution for farmers seeking flexibility, robust disease resistance, and ease of harvest. Combining the advanced weed control window of the TruFlex system with the pod integrity of NTACT technology, this hybrid offers a complete agronomic package for Prairie canola farmers
