Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Minister Le Minh Hoan, and the World Bank (WB) held a delegation where Anna Wellenstein, World Bank Sustainable Development Director for East Asia Pacific, announced that $41.2 million will be allocated to Vietnam to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture. The funds are the largest ever grant disbursed under the World Bank Carbon Fund.
Minister Le Minh Hoan projects that the grant will be a great aid for localities to participate in sustainable forest development as well as adapt to EU regulations on combating forest land encroachment, traceability of agricultural products from forests, and forest welfare.
