F&N AgriValley Flags Off First Bulk Fresh Milk Shipment, Strengthening Regional Food Security and Modern Agriculture
In a groundbreaking move for Malaysia’s dairy industry, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&NHB) has launched its first-ever bulk fresh milk export from F&N AgriValley in Gemas to Singapore. This historic achievement marks Malaysia’s debut in exporting locally produced bulk fresh milk, underscoring the nation’s growing expertise in large-scale, modern dairy farming and its commitment to bolstering food security through increased domestic production.
The milestone event was officiated by Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, alongside key representatives including Datuk Dr Mohd Noor Hisham Mohd Haron, Director General of the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS); Mohamad Shaffie Hassan, Director General of Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS); Dr Nurul Ain Ahmad, DVS Director of Negeri Sembilan; and Datuk Raffiq Md Ariff, Director of F&N AgriValley.
The Ministry and its agencies have been instrumental in supporting this initiative. DVS provided technical expertise, advisory support, and facilitated regulatory processes to ensure export readiness, while MAQIS ensured best practices in cattle management, including quarantine preparations, certification, and export permits.
At the state level, DVS and MAQIS Negeri Sembilan played a crucial role in the safe transfer of cattle to F&N AgriValley and in supporting daily dairy operations and vaccination programs to maintain cattle health.
Isham remarked, “This milestone is a significant step for Malaysia’s dairy industry, showcasing our capability to meet international standards in modern agriculture. Through strong public-private collaboration, Malaysia is well-positioned to become a key regional player in high-quality dairy production, advancing our national food security agenda.”
The first shipment involved two specialized export trucks carrying 40,000 litres of 100% fresh milk from Gemas to F&N Foods Pte Ltd (F&NF) in Singapore. Siew Peng Yim, Managing Director of F&NF, noted, “With fresh milk transported within hours and processed within 24 hours of milking, this streamlined process ensures optimal freshness and quality for consumers in Singapore.”
Datuk Raffiq emphasized F&N AgriValley’s integrated and sustainable farming approach, stating, “Our high-quality feed and advanced practices deliver unmatched freshness and quality. This export is part of our journey toward food self-sufficiency and becoming a net exporter of fresh milk. It builds on our earlier success in exporting Bear Brand Sterilised Milk to Cambodia, made from milk sourced and processed at our Gemas and Pulau Indah facilities.”
F&N AgriValley’s freestall barns, equipped with intelligent environmental control systems, prioritize cattle comfort and welfare. The farm’s rotary milk parlours and closed-system processes ensure milk remains untouched until it reaches the container filling station. Rigorous quality control checks, from raw materials to bulk export, guarantee full compliance with Singapore Food Agency standards. This initiative highlights Malaysia’s rising potential as a regional leader in sustainable, high-quality dairy production.
