Partnership progresses to next phase following successful in vitro validation of bioactive ingredients
Biotalys, an AgTech company focused on protein-based biocontrol solutions, today announced it has achieved the first research milestone in its ongoing partnership with Syngenta to develop a novel bioinsecticide targeting key crop pests.
Initial laboratory testing has delivered encouraging in vitro results, demonstrating the effectiveness of newly developed bioactive compounds created using Biotalys’ proprietary AGROBODY technology. These compounds have shown activity against specific insect molecular targets, supporting the potential of this approach in next-generation pest control.

As growers face increasing challenges from insect resistance and stricter regulatory requirements, demand continues to grow for solutions that deliver sustained efficacy while reducing environmental impact. Biotalys’ protein-based biocontrols represent a new class of crop protection products designed to address resistant pest populations through targeted and sustainable mechanisms.
Following this milestone, the collaboration will move into the next phase of research, where the bioactive ingredients will be evaluated in vivo to further validate their performance. In line with the agreement, Syngenta will issue a milestone payment to Biotalys, reflecting continued progress in the joint development program.
