Cambodia’s Cashew Federation (CCF) necessarily boost the export of cashews above $1 billion every year. CCF has decided on the target according to Cambodia’s National Policy in Cashew Nuts for 2022-2027.
The newly launched CCF looks after investments, processing and export of raw cashew nuts. CCF also will work as a coordination and supporting body to promote Cambodian Cashews in production and marketing in the interest of local producers, processors and exporters.
The new National Policy on Cashew Nuts was drafted by the Ministry of Commerce to boost capacity to grow, store, process, package, market distribute and export cashew nuts to international markets. The draft of the cashew nut policy is under review and will be approved soon. The policy aims to become the largest producer and supplier of Cashew nuts in the region.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in the first half of this year, Cambodia exported 660,000 tones of raw cashew nuts worth more than $1.077 billion to Vietnam. During 2021 Cambodia exported 937,974.26 tones of cashew nuts worth $1.60487 billion, up by 328.34 per cent by tons and 233.32 per cent by value over 2020.
