The certifications recognise the Authority’s commitment to implementing international best practices across social responsibility, governance, and sustainability
Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has secured two international certifications, ISO 26000 for Social Responsibility and ISO 21502 for Project Management, following comprehensive global assessments evaluating its operational standards, governance practices, and institutional performance.
The certifications recognise the Authority’s commitment to implementing international best practices across social responsibility, governance, sustainability, and project management. According to the accreditation body’s assessment, the evaluation reviewed ADAFSA’s framework for community engagement, institutional governance, and project execution processes, highlighting its focus on operational excellence and sustainable development.
The achievement further strengthens ADAFSA’s growing portfolio of international accreditations and reinforces its position as a government entity focused on responsible governance, institutional efficiency, and community service. The Authority stated that the certifications reflect its broader strategy to embed sustainability principles, transparency, and accountability across all operations and programmes.
As part of its community engagement efforts, ADAFSA continues to expand initiatives under its “Auwn” Community Engagement and Volunteering Programme. Between 2019 and 2025, the programme organised 292 community events and activities involving 3,114 volunteers who contributed a combined 14,568 volunteer hours. The Authority also hosted five annual forums recognising volunteers and partners supporting humanitarian, environmental, and social initiatives.
ADAFSA noted that adopting the ISO 21502 Project Management Standard supports the development of a comprehensive project management ecosystem built on modern governance methodologies, strategic planning, risk management, and efficient resource utilisation. The framework is intended to enhance institutional performance, improve project outcomes, and ensure sustainable operational results.
The ISO 26000 Social Responsibility certification, meanwhile, reflects ADAFSA’s efforts to strengthen its societal role through initiatives focused on agricultural sustainability, food security, consumer health protection, and broader community participation within the food and agriculture sector.
According to the Authority, the certifications align with its long-term objective of advancing institutional excellence while supporting Abu Dhabi’s broader sustainability and governance priorities.
