PSAV Secretariat and Director of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Grow Asia and Syngenta.
Vietnam needs to promote public-private partnerships (PPP) for the growth of green agriculture, said Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. He was addressing the Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam (PSAV) plenary in Hanoi.
This can help attract more investment from the private sector from domestic and foreign enterprises to restructure the industry and transform it towards ecological and sustainable agriculture, he said.
The new global economy needs agricultural products to be produced responsibly, especially in terms of biodiversity conservation and emission reduction to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, he added
According to the local media, Vietnam’s Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy for 2030 with a vision to 2050 Vietnam will restructure, and transform agriculture towards a production mindset to an economic mindset to generate green values from green transformation, green consumption and green economy.
At the occasion, PSAV Secretariat and Director of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with Grow Asia and Syngenta. Which will help Vietnam’s agriculture sector to strengthen the PPP cooperation model.
The PSAV was established in 2010 under the ‘New Vision Agriculture 2020’ approach to the 20-20-20 objective which means a 20 per cent increase in productivity, a 20 per cent reduction in poverty and a 20 per cent in emissions reduction. PSAV aims to develop Vietnam’s agriculture with a PPP cooperation model.
