The French agricultural CRO and South Korean innovator seek to accelerate validation and commercialization of biological technologies amid rising demand for sustainable farming solutions
In a move that reflects the accelerating convergence of agricultural biotechnology innovation and global regulatory science, SynTech Research Group, one of the world’s leading agricultural contract research organizations (CROs), has entered into a strategic partnership with South Korean biotechnology innovator ObjetBio to support the international validation, regulatory advancement and commercialization of novel microbial-based agricultural technologies.
The two companies formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 13, 2026, establishing a framework designed to accelerate the global development and market readiness of ObjetBio’s proprietary microbial-metabolite technology platform.
The agreement was signed at SynTech Research Group’s Spanish headquarters in Picanya, Valencia, where representatives from both organizations outlined a shared vision centred on scientific validation, regulatory compliance and sustainable agricultural innovation.
Representing the respective organizations, Hoon Choi, Vice-President of ObjetBio, and Dr. Marisé Borja, Global Regulatory Affairs Lead at SynTech Research Group, executed the agreement and subsequently engaged in detailed discussions regarding future research, testing and commercialization pathways.
The collaboration comes at a time when biological solutions are increasingly gaining prominence within global agriculture as producers seek technologies capable of enhancing productivity while reducing environmental impact. Microbial and metabolite-based innovations, in particular, have emerged as a rapidly expanding segment of the agricultural input market, offering potential applications across crop nutrition, stress management, soil health and sustainable crop protection.
Under the partnership, SynTech will leverage its extensive international infrastructure and scientific expertise to support the validation and regulatory positioning of ObjetBio’s technology across multiple markets.
As part of the engagement, the ObjetBio delegation toured several of SynTech’s specialized research facilities, including ecotoxicology and microbiology laboratories, greenhouse complexes and advanced phenotyping stations in Spain. The visit provided an opportunity to evaluate the breadth of SynTech’s capabilities in supporting efficacy assessments, environmental safety studies and regulatory documentation.
The itinerary also included visits to the Canary Islands, where SynTech conducts Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)-compliant field trials, efficacy evaluations and post-harvest simulations that play a critical role in product registration and commercial development.
The delegation subsequently travelled to SynTech’s global headquarters in La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, France, where the company conducts extensive field research and ecotoxicological studies, before concluding with a visit to its analytical laboratory facilities in Lyon.
The extensive facility tour underscored the global scope of the partnership and highlighted the increasingly sophisticated scientific infrastructure required to bring next-generation agricultural technologies to market.
